Very Easy Chocolate Fudge Cakes
These chocolate fudge cakes taste delicious and are SO EASY, they a perfect recipe for small children as they involve no cooking at all, apart from melting the chocolate.
Ingredients
200 grams of dark chocolate (it doesn’t have to be the super strong stuff. Anything over 50% cocoa solids will do.)
A large tin of condensed milk (340 grams)
3/4 of a large packet of digestives.Equipment
A plastic bag.
A rolling pin.
A pan of hot water and a bowl - to melt the chocolate.
A large bowl - to mix the ingredients together.
A swiss roll tin - this is a shallow oblong tin. Don’t worry if you don’t have it – any tin will do.
A wooden spoonWhat to do
1. Crush the biscuits into crumbs. You can do this by putting the biscuits into a plastic bag, folding over the edge so the bits don’t fall out, then whacking it with a rolling pin! It doesn’t matter if there are a few big lumps.
3. Mix the condensed milk into the chocolate. It makes the most beautiful swirly patterns. This is lots of fun and the mixture tastes delicious!
4. Pour the chocolate mixture into the big bowl then add the crushed up biscuits. Mix them in well until you have a very stiff biscuity mixture.
5. Squash this mixture into your tin and use the back of the wooden spoon to smooth it out. The biscuits need to be about 2 cms deep.
6. Use a knife to divide the mixture into squares, with sides approximately 4 centimetres long. Then put the mixture into the fridge to cool for at least an hour.
IMPORTANT – always divide the mixture up into squares BEFORE you put it in the fridge. It will be too hard to do this afterwards.
7. Use a blunt knife to ease the pieces of fudge cake out of the tin. An adult should do this, as it can be a bit tricky.
8. Enjoy your fudge cakes.
